I have got my dad's old Laptop Compaq Presario CQ42 with Pentium T4500,5GB RAM,Crucial BX500 240GB SSD.

I want to get in pentesting field. So, I want to install Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Windows 10 dual-boot can I do it ?

Again,If we dual boot two windows the default OS performs very good while other is laggy...

Will something like this happen??

What should I make the default OS and which bootloader to use GRUB or windows??

That's not how it works, the OS doesn't care or even know if it's the default one or not and it has zero bearing on the performance.

I would install Windows first, then Linux. It should automatically detect the Windows installation and set up Grub for dual booting.

I will clone my windows 10 install from hdd to ssd.

It should run fine, but you're fairly close to the minimum requirements. You could look into alternative/light weight desktop environments, which might run a bit smoother, if Ubuntu runs too slow.
