New Headset. Sound crashes, screen freezes momentarily.

As the title suggests, when I'm playing Apex using my new headset, Creative H6, sound distorts, then crashes, screen freezes and when the screen is back I have no sound.

I have the latest headset/motherboard drivers installed, firmware also.

 

It doesn't seem to happen when watching Youtube for example. Also this did not  happen with my previous headset, also from Creative. I did not uninstall the previous headsets drivers, but I don't think that matters.

 

I'm suspecting a driver conflict maybe?

 

Windows 10 64bit.

I've never used it, but from an IRL friend......... USB audio and windows doesn't play well together.  I do have a dac and that works well so I can't give a definitive answer but I do know that one of the weakest points of M$ as an interface system is the audio.

 

I would do what you eluded to and uninstall and reinstall.
