Hi guys, is my first time here but I need help for my new computer that I built up myself.

When I'm playing (most of the time happens with League of legends, but also with overwatch) the computer slow down and freeze and the only solution is a restart.

This happens while watching video or just doing nothing cpu or gpu stressing too.

My specs:

Mobo asrock x470 master SLI

RAM 2x8 DDR4 hyperx 3333 mhz

GPU rtx 2070 super

CPU amd ryzen 3600x

PSU evga 80+ bronze 750 watt semi

1 Samsung evo840 120 gb for OS

1 wd blue 2 tb for storage

1 wd blue 500 gb from my old pc

Windows 10 64x HOME edition

Bios up to the latest version

I will appreciate every answer, this problem is driving me crazy in this past two weeks and I tried everything I know.

This is my last hope, thanks again

I know this is a bit obvious but have you tried ddu or clean windows install?

Could also run hdd test and a cpu test if amd have one ( i have a intel processor and there is a integrity test in the intel site)

That sounds a lot like GPU overheating I've experienced in the past.  Do you think you have fans on your CPU or GPU that are not spinning as they should?

I tried a clean windows reinstalling erasing everything but after a few hours the problem returns, now I'll try searching for a cpu integrity test.

Thanks you in any case

The fans are working fine, I also tried with a benchmark and the temperature are just around 60 degrees.

The problems is that the computer freeze or slow down only in the cases described, I tried playing red dead redemption 2 for two hours and nothing happened.

What do you mean by "freeze" ? It locks up for some moments and goes on again ? Or it's BSOD ? Check event viewer for any errors in system log. Check drives SMART. Run HWiNFO and see if CPU & GPU frequency dips when it slows down. Reseat all power cables to motherboard and GPU on both ends if you have modular PSU. And what's your PSU model exactly ?

The computer just become laggy and gradually start to freeze, you can move the cursor but you have to wait a few second to let the cursor  to really select what you need.

My PSU model is this one :https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Bronze-Modular-Warranty-110-BQ-0750-V1/dp/B01FYDUDJ0/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=evga+750+semi&qid=1577016594&sr=8-1.

It's a semi modular model and as "extra" cables I set a 4 pins for the CPU (that have only a 6 pins and the MOBO needs more) and the 6 pins for the gpu ( I'm now using 6+2 pins from the non modular part and a 6 pins from the modular part of the PSU).

So it sounds like it freezes only when gpu is under small or none load I’m correct?? Did you change any settings in MSI Afterburner?? Change maybe power limit to max and see if that changes anything.

@Whiro tag or quote will do the trick

Ahh, ok.  When it was happening to me it was due to a BIOS bug stopping fans randomly and my GPU AIO and fans were stopping completely and that caused the symptoms you described.

What's about other steps i've mentioned ?

I don't really know how and waht to search in system log, is there a file that can summerise alla the event so you can have a look?

I only see 2 critic errors with this code (70368744177664),(2)

I'm using the computer right now and I'm running CPUID HWMonitor but nothing seems irregular when the "freeze" occurs.

Just few minutes ago the computer "freeze" and black screen for 2-3 seconds than return working properly.

I don't know what kind of error is causing this.

Open Event viewer, there should be System events log, sort it by event level to see all events of the same error level in one place. You can also save the log by right clicking.

These are the critic events and a error that impressed me:

Critico    22/12/2019 13:05:57    Kernel-Power    41    (63)

Critico    21/12/2019 19:37:00    Kernel-Power    41    (63)

Errore    22/12/2019 14:57:44    nvlddmkm    14    Nessuna

There are 128 error events, is it normal?

I reinstalled windows yesterday and it sounds strange

(the log file are in italian I hope they are understandable)

Nothing obvious there, some GPU drivers related errors. Just in case, try disabling RAM XMP profile or running only one stick in different slots. Otherwise you'll need to find either a different B450\X470 motherboard or GPU or PSU to test and exclude yours.

It just happened and what I figured out on HWMonitor is that the CPU Vcore drops to 0.736 from 1.488.

I searched on internet but I haven't found anything on this topic.

Ah, in this case I tried controlling things in Pc when the "freeze" uccured and after 30 minutes I got a black screen and the Pc works totally fine .

Also that CPU Vcore rise up.

HWMonitor are wrong in most cases than not, use HWiNFO.
