Upgrade questions

So this holiday, I was thinking about upgrading my current rig to be able to handle newer games. Right now I have a ryzen 1300x and 1060 6gb. I was gonna upgrade to a ryzen 5 2600 and possibly a gtx 1660ti. My question is what do I have to do to set this up. I have to upgrade bios for new cpu, but do i have to install new drivers for my cpu and graphics card? What order do i do this in, do I install the hardware then boot up and do drivers, or will installing new drivers before i have the actual hardware in mess stuff up?

The only thing you need to update is the BIOS for the CPU. The GPU doesn't require a driver update since nvidia installs drivers for all supported devices with each install/update

to be honest a new CPU and more ram would be good, spending more money for a new gpu is going to be hundreds, more then all other parts. you could go up to a 1070 which is a big upgrade for a lower price

Assuming your mobo is capable of handling the new CPU, I'd update the BIOS while everything is working currently.

Then, shut down and replace the CPU.

Fire it up, let windows do its thing. Play with it a bit to ensure it's stable.

Then shut down, swap GFX card, and power back up, and update driver as needed.

If you're on a B350 motherboard, most manufacturers will have bios updates for it to work on 3rd gen Ryzen. So getting a Ryzen 2600 should be no problem as well.
