really weird issues on my pc

so i got a pc back in December last year and it had a i5 3470 and a gt 1030 and minecraft ran good there was 0 issues and i liked it then i upgaded from the 1030 to the 1050 and things got better and then this year i upgraded to a 1060 3g

and it all went down hill from there while in some games my 1060 would beat my other card at games but my 1050 beat it in gta<online and singleplayer> but when i got my 1060 it seemed like i was getting good fps but it was choppy and then the choppy turned into lag spikes and now it wont stop

so i spent 600 dollars on a new ryzen 7 2700x build thinking that was going to fix my issues but no it got better slightly in minecraft just with fps but the lag spikes didn't stop its like i am sitting at 180 fps and then it skips and skips and skips while maintaining that fps montior is 60hz and haven't changed it at all 

so i had my 1060 with my i5 and i still have it now i replaced the cpu,motherboard,powersupply,ram (2993mhz overclocked to 3200mhz) and the only thing left is my graphics card and in gta i get the lag spikes sometimes too and nothing is maxing out at all not my gpu my cpu ram or drivers or anything im thinking its something to do with my 1060 but i am not entirely sure i really wanna figure this out 

ALSO: temps are not high at all

Did you keep the old Windows installation or did you do a new (clean) install?

Running the latest available bios for the motherboard and the latest AMD Chipset drivers?

always new installs and yes i did install the chipset and amd drivers aswell

it supports its a update or 2 behind but it supports ryzen 3 its got the f41 bios on the gigabyte aorus b450 pro wifi

There were 2 or 3 revisions of the F42 bios and this last F50 is also the third if noth fourth version of F50. You're like 5-7 bios versions behind.

Agesa 1.0.0.3. ABBA improves gaming performance and game support + Agesa 1.0.0.4 improves boot time, memory compatibility and some other tweaks.

Flash your bios.

Google your motherboards name with "bios update" at the end and you will find all you need to update the BIOS. Have you checked the clock speeds of the CPU and GPU during gameplay?

I'm guessing you bought GPU from second hand market.

Check if said 1060 wasn't heated in an oven.

It's a method which temporarily brings GPU to working but in long term...not so much.

Some people reselling flawed hardware will do that so when you get it it's all nice and dandy but soon after problems start to arise.

Are you sure the "lag spikes" aren't just the discrepancies between your framerates and monitor's refresh rate (which naturally results in very stuttery gameplay as neither the GPU nor the monitor know what they're even supposed to do and are basically out of sync all the time - unless your monitor has variable refresh rate of course) 

 

 

Any videos that show your issue? 

 

And I would recommend running a couple of timespy benchmark runs and compare to similar hardware, that's the easiest and most bullet proof way to find faulty / underperforming parts.
