tldr: what 55"-ish 4k60 (pref >60Hz at lower resolution) HDR TVs are there supporting G-sync compatible or better? With low latency for gaming.

Following Linus' video a month or so ago on the LG 2019 OLED displays with a firmware update that adds G-sync compatible support, I was hyped. That is, until I found it was limited to North America models only. For now, I've been unable to get a timescale on when Euro models will get it as a tweet to LG UK's support went unanswered. The only thing I saw was the Verge stating other regions will get it by end of year, but, the Verge... Anyway, I was just poking around the internet today, and noticed a jump in the price for the 55" B9 model I was looking at. It was £1100 at multiple places at the time of Linus' video, through to at least Black Friday and beyond. But today, everyone is listing it at £1299. Wonder if this is an across the board price increase, or just them jacking it up for Chirstmas? I can afford to wait to see...

The thought then occurs, LG can't be the only people doing this. What about Samsung and others? I tried searching to G-sync TVs, but most articles lead back to the LG announcement. The few that weren't were mostly feature requests for people already with VRR but not G-sync compatible TVs.

I suppose there is a wider question, if VRR is supported in a more FreeSync kinda way, how does that open up the choice? Even if it means I'll have to buy an AMD GPU... when's big Navi due again?

I followed the prices of the C9s and B9s before and after Black Friday and found that it was controlled by LG. I came across no outliers.

I bought a 55" B9 on Nov 25 and got it on the 29th knowing that there was little chance that the price would not go lower.

That price($1,199.99) was $100 lower than the standard sales price of $1,299.99 and that is $100 lower than the standard price.

The G-sync is a bit pointless to me right now since I use a RTX 2080 TI and play at 4k and it won't come into play for me until HDMI 2.1 is on the GPU.

I have only really tested it in Fallout NV since that can do silly frames with a 2080 ti at 4k and can screen tear even with vsync on. It runs perfectly.

It is much better than the Freesync that I have on my LG 32" 4k monitor and my LG 3840 X 1600 monitor. On them vsync works better than freesync.

The downside to using the 55" B9 as a monitor is that it takes some getting use to going back to my older(smaller) monitors even though mine are quite large.

It even competes with my 38" ultra wide since I never get that cramped feeling in first person games like I do with my 32" 16:9 monitor.

Before getting it I was thinking of abandoning 16:9 and going all ultrawide. Now I am thinking of abandoning ultrawide and getting another B9.
