Second hard drive not showing up ANYWHERE

So for some reason my second hard drive (an HDD) isn't showing up anywhere and i obviously can access anything that was installed on it (ALL of my games). It's not under My PC, it's not in Computer management, it's not in Device Manager, and i ran a chkdsk in Command Promt and the total space it showed was only equal to my boot drive (and yes the cables are connected). I fell like there might be a few more things i could try in command promt to try and detect it (I had to do a bunch of stuff in there when i first got it, but i can't find the youtube video now). The link to my HDD is below, it's less then a year old. if there is a way to save it i'd prefer not to reformat it if possible.

Try another sata port?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

did the drive suddenly stop detecting or did you do a new build or more things around recently?

 

Regardless, heres some possible solutions.

 

Go into windows "Disk Management" and see if its there

Go into your motherboard BIOS and check if it sees the drive there. If you're using Intel, it should list all connected drives under Intel Rapid Storage Technology. Windows might not display drives if it's partition data is corrupt. Your motherboard will always list the drives so as long they aren't totally bricked.


Check the cable and check the SATA slot

 

If you installed a new NVME SSD recently, most motherboards share SATA ports 3/4 and 5/6 with the M.2 slots. Meaning the SATA ports don't work if you plug in an NVME SSD.

There is no such thing as a USB 12v port.  Something is very wrong here.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Check the sata cable. Use another one or another port. 

Check the power cable. Check that it is working (test with another hdd) and that it is plugged in correctly.

Test if the drive is spinning. Put your hdd to the flat surface like table. Power the pc on and touch the hdd, and do you feel is spinning?

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

Yeah, I'm an idiot, the label on the mother board was just a little out of line, it is another sata port (using a flashlight helped a lot too lol), anyways tried using a different sata port, still isn't detecting, not even in the bios. I think the sata connector on the hard drive itself might be the problem, it's always been super loose, like the cable can fall out loose

No worries.  If you’re an idiot everyone is.  There is sata and Esata.  They are not the same.  Esata ports are usually red.
