Are my temps correct?

Hey, so I'm new to having a not dogshit computer, and I'm slightly concerned about my temp readings. So for starters, I think I have a poorly seated AIO, but I'm going away for Xmas at the end of the week, and plan to just keep it as is, and reseat it when I get back and install my sleeved cables.

 

My concern about the CPU.

 

If I'm gaming, it will eventually creep up to 70-75C, and in Cinebench R20 it will go to 76C. I know that's like 20C under the max safe temp (that's why I'm not reseating right away), but it concerns me that it's never pushed over? Is it safe to say that the readings are 100% accurate and something isn't messed up?

 

With my GPU,

 

I ran Firestrike on stock settings, and I never went over 60C. I adjusted my fan curve and added +100mhz/+500mhz and never went over 45C. And my fans never went over 55%. Is that accurate? It seems oddly low. At 40% fans I idle around 28C. Is this accurate and normal?

I think it's safe to say that these thermals are good for 240mm AIO, maybe you indeed don't have enough mounting pressure but it's not going to change much. If you're worried about accuracy of temperature readings then try HWiNFO or Ryzen Master.

Those are what I’m using for temps. I might try to tighten it down more. I mostly think I have a bad mount since I placed it down, the bracket got fucked, so I had to take it off, then replace it back on. And my idle seem a little high (around 40)

Nothing high here, 80° C in MT load, 60° C in ST load and 40° C idle are perfectly reasonable thermals.

I'd question those GPU temps.  benchmarking never got above 60c?  What were you doing that didn't break 45c?

 

Benchmarking runs your GPU full out, should have seen temps in the 70's and possibly 80's.

 

Sounds like they're not reading right.  Even your idle temp is very low, that's barely above ambient for most people.

Gpu load doesn’t seem right if it’s that low in real world.

Sounds like they're not reading right.  Even your idle temp is very low, that's barely above ambient for most people.

That’s why I’m confused. I just ran Timespy at 1440 and MSI afterburner at +100 Core and +1350 memory and I only hit like 54C. MSI afterburner says the same. I’m in my basement and ambient is probably around 19C.

 

The temp was very slowly climbing, but it would cool down to low 40s quote quick since each graphics test is only about a minute and a bit, then it would slowly rise back up. HWMonitor says the same

If your ambient is that low, then things may be right.  Most people don't have a ambient that low, which would definitely help.  

 

Temps aren't the measurement, it's the DELTA that is what is important.  With your ultra low ambient, you have more understandable deltas.

 

Run her for a while and see I anything changes.

My ambient upstairs is 70F (21C), and my basement is cool enough I have a small space heater on the other side (15ft) and wear a hoodie. So i'd say a little cooler down here.

 

I'll run it for a while later and see what she hits.

Delta.  Difference.  

 

We're looking at the difference between ambient and performance temps.  If you have 19c and you idle at 28c... that's 9c of heat produced.  I ambient at 23c so a 28c idle would be 5c of heat, which would be too low IMO.

 

The difference in temps is the heat produced by your components and what we're need to look at.
