So I recently wanted to use all my 16GBs of ram as 8.1 was "hardare reserved". So I followed some tutorial on youtube which is now taken down and I changed my Maximum Memory to 16384. It shouldve worked. But now, Win10 starts as though I allocated no ram to it at all! Help!

can you reverse the settings you tweaked whilst watching the video?

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

Well that happened to me at one point, but by trying to set the bootup RAM to 16GB back in Win 7.

 

I had to boot up via USB and go to recovery options. Then to the command promt and reset it that way.

 

Also, when one of your RAM sticks is hardware reserved, it may be because one stick is faulty or not compatible with your system.

At that point it wouldn't show up at all. Hardware reserved usually means that it's assigned for iGPU.

Normally not, but OP likely used a tutorial for something completely different and screwed up their system.

Nope,

had first hand experience with it. Only one stick worked, with the second installed it said 8GB reserved. With the faulty one it would not even boot.

Also this was with a Ryzen 2600 system, so iGPU is not possible.
