RX 5700 system crashing

Psykik

So I recently purchased a system,

MB: Biostar B45M2 BIOS: BIOS Date: 11/19/19 13:46:29 Ver: 05.0000E

Ryzen 5 3500X

Memory 16GB

Radeon RX 5700, Driver: 26.20.13031.20012

Has happened on multiple different drivers

Aywun 700 watt PSU (https://www.ebay.com.au/p/14011376454?iid=113886836736&)

My PC has crashed multiple times now, while using chrome as well as playing games (CSGO, Apex, Modern Warfare)

It crashes to a green screen every time, which stays on screen for 2-3 seconds before the PC reboots

Would anyone be able to advise me on the cause?

probably because that cheap psu.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

Set your GPU power target to 50% so that there's less stress on the PSU, if it works fine then it's probably that power supply.

How exactly did you end up with that motherboard and PSU? Or is it just what's available in your region?

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Not +50% just to be clear.  -50% from stock.

Yeah that is kind of what I thought might be the problem. I got it on black friday as a super cheap prebuilt. I can probably warranty it with the company, and hopefully get a better quality one. Thanks for the advice

Running the latest AMD chipset drivers?

How are you connecting the 8-pin power? I see the PSU only has a single 6-pin pci-e power.

They're just going to send you back the same system most likely, I'd honestly just return the entire system if that's an option or it was bought locally...Unless the price for it was really cheap, in which case just put a fan over the motherboard's VRM, and replace the PSU.

What wattage PSU would you reccomend?

These are the two cables that are then combined into the 8 pin socket

That's just painful to look at lol. They really screwed people over with that.

Anything from like a big name manufacturer. with a gold rating is a decent place to start.

Just check like real reviews mostly. Corsair, EVGA, XFX, Seasonic are a few names to look for.

But still set the power limit to -50% and see if it crashes. Or just return the whole thing and go custom if it's not too big of a deal.

It's a bit late for me to return it now, especially as I need it for work as well. Looking at their website, this PSU isn't on the list of possible components, and they said it should be 80+ bronze at least, so I screenshotted and I am going to push for a replacement through that.

I knew some of the components wouldn't be great, but I needed something cheaper to convince my parents, and I hoped they would last long enough until they forgot about original price and I could just replace them with something better lol

But in the meantime I will definitely try out the power limit

You could also maybe offer to pay the difference to get a PSU upgrade or something.
