Try to clear the BIOS settings here. and then try to access it.

This is a sign the bios could be partially corrupt, but I'm not sure why the laptop would work with a corrupt bios.

Since I can't access the BIOS to reset it, I'll have to open the notebook, but I'm not really comfortable with Notebook Hardware, so Im gonna take this to someone, explain it and see if it works.

I'll Keep this post updated.

Thank You!

Hey there!

So, I got my old laptop a Vostro 3460 with W10-64bits installed which i'm tryning to make a Hackintosh with and I need to get access to the BIOS to make some changes, but when I try to access it in the boot loading screen hitting F2, it changes to a screen with a white blip and then it boots into Windows as usual.

Here are some of the sollutions that I've try'ed:

  • External Keyboard
  • Try'ed to Re-Flash the BIOS (I always get an error "ERROR 216 - failed to read BIOS from ROM! Status = 1604")
  • Changed Boot options (Legacy and UEFI)
  • Disabled fast Startup
  • Format PC

I Can't see this as a Hardware problem and I don't have any more Ideas.

Note that I can stilll access the F12 Boot Options.

   Specs:

  • i5 3210M
  • 8GB Ram DDR3 in Dual Channel
  • GT 630M
  • Motherboard Model: 0C0NHY (Produced by Dell)
