Is it better to do a clean install or just update you’re driver you have already?

DDU in safe mode and install the latest driver

In place update usually works. Optionally check the "clean install" checkbox in the installer which resets some more things and I think can help prevent buildup of older versions. Using DDU is not required unless you have problems you're trying to resolve.

Clean install is more work, but it at least gives you peace of mind that you're working with a clean slate.

 

However, as long as you have a driver that's compatible with whatever you're upgrading to, you don't have to do anything. The driver already installed should just work.
