Partitions for Windows and caching

Hello! My first time posting here, just thought you guys would know what to do :3.

So I got a crucial 500gb m.2 on black friday and up until now I've been running off of hard drives. I want to install windows on one partition of the drive, use a good chunk for caching of some sort (up to 256 gb, possibly the kind featured in one of Linus's old videos), and the rest for random things I want to keep on there. Just wanted to know how doing all this works and how large I should make the windows partition, etc. Really any advice is appreciated because until now I just slap most stuff wherever onto my hard drives. Thanks in advance! :D

Caching? for what? and you don't have to partition the drive to organize things on it but you can still do that when you do a fresh install of Windows, as a minimum I wouldn't go below 100GB for Windows itself and you can partition the rest however you like it

I would suggest you to use your SSD as is. Caching you are talking about is most likely not viable for your usage.

I do mostly gaming but I dabble in some other things too. I was thinking of using Primo Cache shown in this LTT video.

To cache an HDD? don't bother, at most you're only getting a few seconds or even less than a second of improvement, keep that valuable SSD space for other things, or even install games directly to the SSD instead of caching an HDD
