Ups?

Uninterruptible power supply.

It's a battery connected to your PC (and possibly monitor(s)) to make it so when a power outage occurs, you get a couple minutes of extra run-time before your PC actually turns off.

This time can either be enough for the power to come back, or at least enough time for you to save your progress in whatever you're doing to make sure you don't lose data.

APC and Eaton are my go to brands for these, but they have quite a few options (ranging in capacity). Just look up how much power your PC will use (keep in mind that amount will depend on what you are doing, gaming or not for example) and think about how much time you want to keep it on.

APC usually has helpful run time charts, to see how long a system will run given it consumes an X amount of energy.

Can someoen give me tips on how to prepare my pc for a power outage as i have gotten many outages today.

Thank you.

The only appropriate solution to power outages is a UPS, and even then, a UPS is a backup battery and power stabilizer, it's not going to save you if you overload it, and in fact most UPS systems are easily destroyed by even a slight overload. A gaming PC or HEDT will easily kill even the largest consumer UPS. Consumer UPS systems are designed to protect exactly ONE computer, and not the accessories or monitors. Every single UPS I've ever seen says not to plug in laser printers, as an example.
