DVI-D is nearly extinct, those early generation 144hz monitors are really starting to get outdated by now but no need for alarm, most of the time simply buying the correct cable can do the trick, no need for fancy active converters.

Both DVI-D and DisplayPort uses digital video making the process a lot easier than if you needed an analog signal.

I understand what you're asking, but it won't work. The DVI port on your board uses your CPU's iGPU. Think of them as two totally separate GPU's, as they are. This adapter should do the trick as others on Amazon have said.

That cable will not work for 144Hz.

I’m having a similar problem in that my monitor is dL-dviD only.  I looked at those “active” adaptors but they appear to have problems.  The problem with dvi is there are many versions and unless it specifically says the video out on you motherboard is dL-dvi it probably isn’t.  “Dual link Dvi 1080p” for example isn’t actually dual link.  It just has the dual link pins.

i was told the 2060S and the 580 both have dual-link dviD but they are the newest most powerful cards that will.

I was told these cables wouldn’t actually work.  Gonna try one anyway because it’s only $20, but I am wary.  I will report success or failure.  It’s real possible it’s dviD but not dual link dviD I’m which case it will only output 1080p@60hz even though display port will do a lot more.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Some said the adapter I linked only officially supports 120Hz but they were able to run at 144Hz, it's worth a try with Prime easy returns. Maybe it's time for a nice 1440p 144Hz monitor. It's Cyber Monday tomorrow.
