memory upgrade for optiplex 9010 mt

I'm wanting to upgrade to an optiplex 9010 and I already have 2 4gb sticks of g.skill ram (f3-2133C9D-8GXL) Its 2133 and the optiplex has 1333 in it. If I took out the stock ram and used the g.skill would it work? and would it work if I left in the stock ram and added the new ram. I'm pretty new to all this and I'm trying to spend as little money as possible.
