Numerous videos on how to build a PC.  I would suggest watching a few. The general guidelines are:

-RTFM especially for cooler mounting

-keep yourself static free

-try to handle stuff by the edges

-dont bend anything

-Dont touch anything gold colored.

the cpu mount is the most dangerous bit.

-Make sure it is lined up correctly. (Videos)

-use the right amount of paste

-zero insertion force means zero.  Do not force the cpu into the socket.  If it doesn’t just drop in and fit perfectly you’re doing something wrong.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

The size thing is hard to predict.  It’s a factor of the gpu mostly.  That’s a lot of gpu though.

i personally am suspicious that while the 9700k is great right now it will not age well.  It might need to be upgraded to a 9900k later just to get the extra threads even though the cpu isn’t actually any faster.
