When I first built my PC, I used 2x8 GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 MHz and have a Ryzen 5 1600 and an AsRock AB350 Pro4. I bought the exact same Corsair Vengeance Kit (same timings and speed) and installed it, but it bootloops 3 times before booting at 2133 MHz single channel. XMP does not work, and my motherboard doesn't let me manually set timings without XMP. I have tried a BIOS update to the second to latest version and unoverclocked my CPU, but it still runs at 2133 MHz. I don't now if this is relevant, but 1 kit is Micron and 1 kit is Hynix.

Single channel means you havent put the sticks in the right slots. They should be 2 slots apart.

As for XMP, Asrock BIOS do require selecting the memory frequency yourself afterwards. I think it's just "you can't find the option", but not that it couldn't do so.

I only have 4 slots, and all 4 of those slots are now filled because I installed my second kit. I also made sure to set the frequency to 3000 (and I also tried 2933) and it would do the 3 bootloops unless the frequency was set to auto

then try 2666MHz, not every 1st gen CPU can stablize even 2933MHz. Of course if you're into it you could raise memory voltage and change SOC voltage to 1.1V
