NOOBS FIRST BUILD

Joe G.

Hey guys,

I wanted to get some help in understanding what kind of PSU I need to get in order  to connect the 8 PIN + 4 PIN CPU connectors also the GPU. I unfortunately dont understand how to tell if the PSU will fit my rig needs or if I need to buy extra connections adapters to complete. Here is a look at my build:

(I got the 2700X for $86.00 on Amazon new)

I do plan to over clock my rig for gaming and streaming.

Thanks in advance.

only the 8 pin is needed, the extra 4 pin is if you plan on doing some major overclocking and need the extra power delivery

Also i would personally go an rm model of corsair psu (over a txm) due to the full modular design.

i know that the rm750x and rm850x both come with a 8-16 pin adaptor which is used for the gpu (as i have owned both)

The extra 4 pin a marketing gimmick basically.

Why are you buying a $379 motherboard...

Should get a case with more airflow like the MB511 with it's full mesh front.

Mostly spend less on the motherboard and more on the CPU

added an NVME drive, get a NAS hard drive if you're buying one that big probably .

If you want a top end RX 5700 XT get a Nitro+ or Taichi, the Pulse is fine, and you can overclock or flash the non XT card to have 95% the same performance for less.

Cooler is just the cheapest decent dual tower cooler. Can always buy it later.

Going to want 3600mhz CL16 RAM for Ryzen 3000.

and I think you have mail in rebates turned on.

as a MB511 RGB owner I agree, MB520 RGB got a bit better internal layout(same one as MB530p, while MB511 RGB shares internal layout with MB510L), but nothing major,
but MB511 just kills it with airflow, I have personally gone a step further and got Noctua NF-S12A Chromax fans to replace stock fans and you get double the airflow of front fans("balanced" my ass, just RGB looks better on them) with less noise, and 70-80% more airflow than fan in the back(airflow optimised) while still being quieter

3600 LPX should also be fine, CL18, but other timings are fine, 18-19-19, while most cl17 marketed RAM modules are 17-21-21 which performs worse, and even some cl16 modules can be 16-20-20, manufacturers put 16-18-18 and 16-20-20 ones with same code thing, you need to read it off back of modules(impossible when buying online) to see what you got, Patriot is notorious for doing this, but G.skill also does it a lot

The CPU was originally $189.99. I applied for the Amazon card got approved for a $100.00 dollar instant gift card and had another $25 gift card. All in all $86.00 bucks with Tax.

UPDATE: All parts have been ordered however I am still looking for the last part which is the GPU. I have my eye on the Red Devil 5700 XT but there sold out everywhere. I am now looking at the Red Dragon 5700 XT and wondering if you guys have any suggestions on what I  have mentioned or possibly look into another GPU.

Thank you in advance.

Given price of them, I’d get the nvidia equivalent.

I know they don’t really offer anything custom like what color offers for cards.

No card I’d like besides an fe look wise though.
