Hi Guys,

First of all, thank you for taking the time and helping out. I am not a native english speaker so I apologize for spelling or grammatical mistakes.

Based on the Sticky:

1. Budget & Location

Roughly 2200 euros

Germany / EU

2. Aim

Gaming:

Cities Skylines with lots of mods (high amount of RAM?)

Civilization 6 (with mods)

No FPS or Reflex based games (I am horrid at them)

Able to run Cyberpunk 2077 quite well

I wish to do some videoediting maybe? So nothing work or even hobby related. Let’s leave the door open :)

I will be needing to do a lot of studying on it, but let’s be real this build will be overkill for Word and PPT.

3. Monitors

I wish to use one display, never had anything above 1080p 60hz, so aiming for something along the lines of 2k 144hz 27 inch min.

4. Peripherals

I have brand new (5 months old) razer Blackwidow Tournamen v2 and mouse, and a Logitech 5.1 speaker system (good enough). Yeti Microphone

5. Why are you upgrading?

My current computer is an i5-4790k with GTX 780. It is old... and exteremely noisy even after several attempts to clean it. So time to upgrade it.

Important

I have little care for RGB. So I prefer performance over looks. Mouse and keyboard are enough RGB for me :)

I will most likely NEVER overlock nor will use PCI 4.0 in forseaable future

What I care about is Silence so that is the only reason I added Noctua D15

My main goal asking you guys if you can recommend for my use case more fitting components that might be cheaper. P.S.: I am not against Intel so if they drop prices in 9700k in near weeks and I can get a significant (-100 euro) discount on a CPU I switch.

Questions?

3900x / 3700x or i9700k or 9900k? (Again I will never overlock)

Motherboard recommendations? For intel I have no idea what to take.

Will I see performance increase from 660p or should I just go Sata SSD for what I am currently doing?

Do I need noctua D15?

I am really unexperienced with Power supply, is that a good choice? Do I need 650w?

Recommendation for other monitor? I chose this one as might play games with my GF so I do not wish to buy a TN panel with bad viewing angles. Nor curvature. It seemed like a reasonable choice.

NXZT case was chooseN as I saw that all front connectors are with 1 connector not power, reset each etc. I liked that, but if you have better recommendation I am open!

Since I don’t play lag intenstive games and the computer will be in a room where it has no LAN access I am okay buying a wifi card. Should I get one on the motherboard? Pro-cons would interest me. My thought process was that I’ll get Wifi-6 expansion card whenever the technology gets there.

Thank you!

A few suggestions to bring down cost without affecting desired performance.

Use a B450 motherboard with WiFi. The model suggested has a feature that allows BIOS updating without a cpu.

A less expensive cpu cooler with very similar performance.

Slightly less expensive memory on the motherboard QVL.

A quieter case.

A better psu with more than enough capacity.
