For a $1000 build, I would advise you to go for a 660ti or a 7950 so you have more money for the peripherals and other parts. A 7950 can overclock much better, so if you're into that, you could easily overclock it to outperform the 670 and it is $100 cheaper (though if you prefer Nvidia 660ti is a great choice also).

For the processor pick up a 3570k: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504

For the motherboard, just find a quality 1155 mobo that is under $200~ such as this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837

And a quality 650w will be more than enough, this one looks decent: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

Also, do you have a copy of Windows or plan on using Linux? You may need to spend another $100-$200 on that, so you really have to pick your parts wisely.

If you're primarily gonna play games on the build, go for the 7950 like Villain here says. With some overclocking it's so good value. I prefer Asus for my GPU's. EVGA is a good brand to, looks nice and overclocks well. Though the Asus cards is cooled so effectively and are so quiet.

The TX 650W is probably a good buy. I have the HX 650W, rock solid. Don't think there's much difference in performance between the TX and HX-series. HX might be a tad more reliable.

Current build: Antec P180, Asus P8Z68 Pro, Intel i5-2500k, Asus GTX 570 2GB, Patriot 16GB 1600MHz, Corsair HX 650W.

What country are you in and how many monitors do you intend to play on?

I live in the US, I'm probably gonna play on just one.

Okay so here is what i picked out, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TtNh

I went with a bit higher amount of wattage than you guys said because I eventually I wanna go with a cross fire setup, do some overclocking, and add a custom loop. Plz tell me if I should add or remove anything from this setup.  (EDIT): I also have a copy of windows...

When you are looking for a keyboard, what is important to you? Illumination, extra key etc.? The keyboard you chose appears to be membrane, which is... well, shit and honestly paying that much for one is ludicrous. I personally would rather compromise somewhere else and get mechanical, because it is entirely worth it, and if you don't use the number pad you can get this one for only $70:

Also, I would upgrade the 840 to an 830 or an 840 pro. Aside from that, your choices seem pretty solid.

That keyboard was just a place holder ROCCAT should be coming out with a new mechanical keyboard just like that for around the same price soon. I added the 830: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Tu1a

You said you planned on overclocking, so I would suggest getting an aftermarket cooler also. Something like a Coolermaster Hyper212 will give you much better temps, and it's relatively cheap.

Maybe, but if i'm eventually gonna build a custom loop i'm not sure if it is worth investing in.

So, secret tip for the price of an i5 get the performance of an i7. intel xeon 1230v2. Its a Xeon so it cant be overclocked, but that is really not necessary. Its socket 1155 and because you need no oc chipset b75 will be enough while having full ivy-bridge features like pcie 3.0. The hyperthreading helps a lot with editing. Its basically a 3770 non-k for 200 bucks.

Cooling I would say get a basic AIO watercooler like a h60 or h40.

GPU depends on what other fancy stuff you want. Ill say get a 660 ti, its got cuda, helps a lot with rendering.

Seagate Barracuda for storage, dont really need a pricy ssd.

Phantom 630 is also kind of pricy, if you really want the looks go for it, but I would really advice you to go with a Corsair 300R. Basic, but awesome.

Corsair CX500M will do the job, semi-modular, quiet, top quality.
