Hi I'm planning on building a secondary pc so friends can play along.

I can't find all the parts on PC partpicker so there is a picture below with prices and the psu: Sharkoon SilentStorm SFX Bronze 450W.

-The case is tiny. How does this impact performance compared to a normal mini atx build?

- I still need a cpu cooler, which do you guys recommend?

-Does everything fit?

-Any other comments on the build are appreciated!

Thanks for the help.

A used 8700K might be better for fps dips, or just get an R5 2600/3600, Ryzen's also going to use less power and be easier to cool.

Definitely want 16GBs of 3200mhz RAM at least, also helps your CPU performance a bit on either platform, would want 3600mhz CL16 RAM if possible for Ryzen 3000.

Probably just want to double check reviews on that power supply.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I want to run Stormlands vr on the oculus quest using oculus link. So 1440x1600 72hz per eye.
Prices are from Belgium.

I'm going to write my thought process so just react on whatever you don't agree with.
The 3600x is €30 more expensive but probably has a decent cooler included so they would be the same price.

G.Skill Aegis F4-3200C16S-16GIS would cost me €63 so €30 for only a few % performance increase, do you think that is worth the price?
I would probably have to go for a motherboard like this one then: ASRock X470 Gaming-ITX/AC for €170?

Your suggestions would make the pc €60 more expensive so 8% more but would this result in 8% better performance?

A wraith spire is 54mm high and my psu would be 63mm high. Would this still fit?

There's a big difference for Ryzen at times for faster RAM, not sure how it scales on intel, if nothing else just pick up a single 8GB 3200mhz kit and upgrade later with the same another stick of RAM

Having the extra CPU threads can help a bit with fps dips. But if you're only targeting like 75Hz you could even get away with an R5 1600/R5 2600 if it's much cheaper.

Boneworks recommended specs is 7700k so I don't want to go below that performance.
Why would I go for ryzen if the only thing that the pc is going to be doing is run games?
Intel is still a bit faster for gaming right?

Ryzen should just be cheaper and would be fine for that performance level.

Mostly having more threads to work with can help fps drops, which is why I'd go for an 8700K or Ryzen 5 CPU over a 6 core 6 thread CPU.

For the case that I'm using, everybody on youtube uses a all in one liquid cooler instead of an airblower. Does this matter?

I'd stick to air coolers since they can't fail. Don't need more than a dual tower air cooler like an Arctic Xtreme, Neptwin, or Scythe Fuma 2
