Hey LTT

thanks for stopping by my second build log!

Some of you may remember my other build.

casepic1_zpsa937d703.jpg

well now I'm back at it again with the Corsair 750d!

The theme of this rig is WoW's For the Horde, as the owner loves to play WoW.

There will be a lot of customizations and some cool things here and there.

Parts:

Corsair 750d

Asus z87 Sabertooth

Asus Raidr

Evga 780ti

intel 4770k

hybrid hdd

silverstone 1200 watt

16gb g.skill 1600 ram

corsair h110

We will be doing full custom loop h2o eventually. The h110 will serve our purposes just fine for now

let the fun commence !

Looks promising, but the effects in the last photo make it look like the cover of a bad 70's porno.

One thing I will say, though, you shouldn't of gone with a 1200w PSU as it will never reach it's full efficiency! You should of gone for something like an AX860i (Which is plenty enough to run a water loop, 2 680's-oc'd- and an i7 4770k-oc'd) Then the PC would be at about 50% power when on load and it's efficiency would be a lot higher than this.

when overclocked and under loop, i guess it would pull... 500? should check internetz

Not even that dude, overclocked no loop with 99% load on cpu and gpu (2 680's and a 4770k) it only pulls about 350w, so the loop MIGHT add like 50w? So yeh 1200w is completely wasted here tbh.

We wanted to future proof it, it was also a great deal and cheaper than some 1000w, plus we chose this psu for sleeving because there is only 1 double wire and all others are 1:1.

And from personal experience, when benching on custom bios my two titans shut down my 1200w psu

The next step is to make the light box.

Now in my 900d, i had the luxury of having a little shelf so to speak already in the case. this provided me with enough of a lip for my plate to rest on easily.

the 750d doesnt have that option.

so i had to make a shield.

The led light box follows my standard format. aluminum construction, plexiglass, and leds!

wired it up to test anddddd success!

thats it for now

Thanks!

Well this will be the final update until funds come in for the h2o gear! but being that it is the last update it is a big one!

now that we know the psu shield/shelf works, and that the LED midplate works, it was time to sleeve!

We continued to use the red/black theme and had a sleeveathon! between the both of us sleeving, making wires, and making sure it was perfect it took us about 8 hours. I had to train my associate in the process.

i knew this was going to be a while, so i brought out my trusty work bench... the OFFICIAL Beer Pong table =) and cracked a few beers.

The end results are nothing short of perfect!

Thanks for viewing, UPC will be back with more!
