Work in progress, as i gotta run to a meeting.

Please also clarify if you have a 1000$ cap or you need to stay in the 1000 range, meaning it can be up to 1500?

Gamesystem: X3700, 32GB memory @3200mhz, GTX1080 Hybrid

Unraid system: Epyc 7352, 24/48, 96GB ECC buffered @2666mhz, 2x GT710, GTX1050Ti

Is 3600 memory overkill for the Ryzen 3600? I was told it pairs really well with the CPU, but most of the builds only use 3000 or 3200. Just wondering if it's worth the extra price. Also, how important are the CL timings? Say for example 3200 CL16 vs 3600 CL18, what's "the best"?

Also, I never heard of the Rosewill Capstone PSU, are they any good?

Technically after 2600mhz you won't notice very much difference on the ryzen cpu's. Yes you will gain 2 or 3 FPS here and there with most games, but when you're already hitting 50+ will you really notice it for it to be worth the price premium? No, not when you're on a budget like stated above.

So yeah, it will make a difference. No it won't fit your budget.

3600 is expensive compared to 3000 or 3200 but it's the sweet spot for Zen 2 CPU.

A 3200 CL16 will have the same latency as the 3600 CL18

And those PSU are really good especially at that price :)

No,3600 is good,4000 is overkill.

CL timings are as important as the frequency,

The best is a combination of both low timings and high frequencies,

3200MHz CL16 is equal in performance to 3600MHz CL18.

I have 3466MHz CL16 which is better than both.

3200 CL16 and 3600 CL18 are equal performance wise? But you pay 30 bucks more for the 3600

Exactly,3600MHz CL18 is a ripoff and should not exist.

There are 3600MHz CL16 kits from Patriot with the same price as 3600MHz CL18.
