If you want to stick to the motherboard you already have, then you could for a used i7-6700/7700(K), if you could find one for cheap. Otherwise, the pretty obvious recommendation would be going with AMD's Ryzen 3600 for its great price to performance ratio with a good B450 board, if you want to save some cash, or a decent X570 board (something like the ASUS TUF X570-Plus). This will also offer you much greater upgradability options in the future.

I'll look into that in regards to using AMD do I need to flash the MB? If I were to go with a Asus tuf x570 plus?

No. ASUS TUF X570 Plus is a great sub $200 board that can handle 3950x 16 core cpu. X570 boards compatible with Ryzen 2000 and 3000 series.

i5-7600 + GA h270n

Sorry, I just can't pass by without dropping this guide here :)

By GA H270N do you mean GA-H270N-WIFI, a mini-ITX board?

If so, it should be OK with something like i5-9400F or an i7-8700 non-K. The memory will clock up to 2666 MHz, too.

Otherwise, Zen 2 is a solid option.

You'll only need to flash the BIOS if you go with a B450 board, as most do not come with the latest BIOS pre-installed to support 3rd gen Ryzen out of the box.
