unstable system (ram?)

dgsddfgdfhgs

this is actually a slight issue started 2yrs ago. pc will freeze / black screen , thus nothing respond, got to switch off PSU & restart.

this bugs me becoz it happens like twice a month and I couldnt have proof to spot the issue, damn

aida 64 seems to be fastest way to trigger the issue , but may take 2 hours or so

ram at DOCP (standard?) at 2933 or 3000 still random hangs

I only know the ram isnt listed on mobo list, now testing with 2133 speed...I remember it once hanged at 2133...

whats the next test? loosen the timings?

specs:

cpu: r7 1700

cooler: cm 212, (52C max at stock clock)

mobo: asus B350F (issue persisted with every latest bios)

psu corsair tx550m

Case: n/a

gpu : msi gtx970

RAM: corsair vengeance red LED 2x8 3000mHz

storage: adata 256gb sx8200 + 2tb seagate

Memtest will tell you any errors immediately or at the latest when it went through its cycle.

Also it only tests RAM to my knowledge.

Oh, I honestly don't remember how many - but I do know I had it running all night,  6-8 hours or so and that was considered the absolute *minimum* lol

Honestly I think a cycle takes like 2 hours (could be mis-remembering though)

But yes,  6+ hours at least.

I know it's not fun!  :o
