Ryzen 5 3600 vs Ryzen 7 3700x

I was wondering if it's worth it for someone to spend another $100 for casual intermediate video editing (Sony Vegas and After Effects) but mainly gaming and recording it (OBS)

And if possible what's the percent difference between these two chips in these catergories. I've only been able to find gaming benchmarks

Lots of missing data.

One other issue is what is your time worth and what sort of file sizes?  A smaller CPU will do what a bigger one will, just more slowly.  It will do real-time, but will do it at lower resolution.

Without knowing what kind of video you want to edit it’s hard to know if the extra two cores are worth it.

The only argument for gaming I can see is that the new consoles will be low clocked 8 cores.  The last ones were slow 8 cores too though.

Also they’re not out yet, and it will be an only guessed at while until they are.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
