I just wondering which type of mic would be better if my plan was just to use it for voice chat in games and discord, omnidirectional, bidirectional or unidirectional?

the cheapest mic would work just fine

If you're just talking to friends over chat a designated/standalone mic really isn't needed unless your current headset is without a mic. Is that the case?

Omni tends to be easier to use as it picks up sound from every direction, while uni tends to have better noise suppression. Bi is a fun alternative to omni for ASMR-style "binaural" (technically iffy) sound but not much otherwise.

I'm actually planning to buy a headset with a mic and I was wondering what kind of mic should the headset come with?
