Ryzen 5 1400 and Rx 5700 xt good combo?

Django2142

Im currently looking to upgrade my gtx 970 as im having problems and I have saved up enough but im feeling slightly sceptical on what I should go for, I have decided AMD this time around to keep within my budget but I don't know if the rx 5700/ rx 5700 xt will cause a cpu bottleneck, any feedback would be appreciated and thank you for you time

Upgrade the CPU to at least a 1600 to not have a significant bottleneck from a 5700/XT. Heck, even the 1600 will have some slight issues, and it'd be best to go with a 3600, but that might also require a new motherboard.

Im assuming that you're using that 1080p 75hz monitor from your signature so with that being said why not keep your existing cpu and upgrade to a rx590 or 1660 super and use the extra cash for a ram or other upgrade.

It's really not that much of a performance loss to go with a 5700 instead of an XT. Just overclock it. (it's basically designed for it anyways)

Yeah i was thinking of going for a custom rx 5700 because people were saying that with an overclock you could get rx 5700 xt performance, so thanks for the suggestion
