Hi,

I'm just curious, which CPU cooler should I get?

Okay, first thing first:

- CPU is AMD Ryzen 3600

- CPU cooler clearance is 160mm

- I want a tower style cooling.

So, through my search (local store), I found a few hits which I like:

- Thermaltake Riing Silent 12

- Hyper 212 MasterAir MA410P

- Hyper 212 LED Turbo White

- ThermalTake UX200

I wonder which is the best among them

Anyway, I have 2 120mm fans, so I'm actually looking for tower heat sink only. Not sure if anyone selling just the heat sink with fan mountings.

I apologies if my comments or post offends you in any way, or if my rage got a little too far. I'll try my best to make my post as non-offensive as much as possible.

I mean.. honestly, you could probably stick with your stock cooler. 3600 doesn’t get that hot unless you plan in OCz

Yeah, but I just want to see if it can stay cool for long period of intense gaming. So far the stock cooling could hit 85c at 30 minutes of stress test regardless of ambient temperature (24c to 36c).

That's normal. The fan speed is variable to keep  temps in check and noise lower when possible. Are temps higher when gaming? Is the cooler too noisy?

Well, For gaming, it keeps at around 75c. Of course I set the fan to run at maximum all the time (2000rpm). The problem is when it runs SQL database. I want it to run at full speed without thermal throttling (so far I can still run at 3.6GHz at 85c, but it slowly throttle to 3.4GHz). I wonder if a bigger heat sink manage to keep the CPU cool.

ye, this is why i asked the same question a few days ago. the 3600 doesn't boost that much on the stock cooler(about 3.95ghz). after using the new cooler i got(Id cooling Se 207 which dropped the temps a lot) , it reached about 4.175Ghz (WHY WONT IT BOOS TO 4.2)

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

I can get it to 4.2GHz for a while before it began thermal throttle at 70c. 4.175GHz is very close to 4.2GHz, so I think it's good enough. Anyway, what motherboard are you using? Mine is Gigabyte Aorus X570 Pro Wifi.

Asides from fan speeds, are you otherwise using stock motherboard settings?

A better cooler would probably help. The coolers you mentioned perform similarly. If I were to guess which was the best, it would probably be the Hyper 212 LED Turbo.

What case and ram are you using?

Where are you shopping / located? Budget?

What you're seeing is normal. 4.2ghz isn't guaranteed.

Actually, that depends. If I get a better cooler, I might began overclock the processor a bit, but for right now, I just leave everything as default.

Hyper 212 LED Turbo unfortunately doesn't fit my case. Its height is 163mm (so close, but too bad).

As for fan, I don't really mind as I have 2 120mm Sickle Flow from Cooler Master, I can always change them. The issue is whether they will fit. The wire style fan holder should be compatible, but the plastic moulded may be an issue. So far I couldn't find any heat sink with standard case fan screw mounting.

Sickleflows aren't very good and most okay coolers will come with better fans.

Many traditional tower coolers use standard 120mm case fans even if it might not be immediately apparent. Asides from the DR Slim where the mount is at the center of the frame, every other aftermarket cooler mentioned in the thread so far fits standard 120mm case fans.

I am currently in Malaysia, Selangor. Budget is about USD38 (RM160).

Most of the options available within your budget are fairly similar especially considering the Sickleflows you can already use.

I'd recommend the Gammaxx GTE: https://www.lelong.com.my/deepcool-gammaxx-gte-rgb-air-cpu-cooler-easyit2u-211788908-2021-02-Sale-P.htm
