Hello guys

I wanted to build my own pc, but I'm not quite sure whether I did it right or not, It would be great if someone could help me.

So my budget is about $1000, I've already made an example for about $950 on pcpartpicker but as I said I'm not quite sure about it.

Hello,

Better motherboard that is Zen 2 ready.

Dual channel ram because Zen loves it.

Better SSD, GPU and case.

And I added a PSU too.

Hey, welcome! Good job on picking out parts for a PC. For it to work, you'll need a power supply.

Next, I recommend getting a memory kit that has either two or four DIMMs. The one you picked has only one DIMM, and this will only give you half of the memory bandwidth that two or four DIMMs could give you. Check your motherboard's manual for instructions of how to install RAM in a dual channel configuration.

So, I picked out some RAM that is cheaper, faster, and even has better timings, and I picked a fairly decent, good value power supply. Note that this power supply is non-modular, but your case should be able to accommodate that fairly well without cables going everywhere.

Lastly that SSD is a SATA III SSD, so you aren't going to be taking advantage of PCIe speeds. I added an NVMe SSD that is cheap but should be considerably faster. Note that you can get even better SSDs if you're willing to pay a little more. In fact, you can can really spend as much as you want to on SSDs, so think carefully on this.

Also note that there is a chance your motherboard will not support your CPU out of the box, as many motherboards do not come with the latest BIOS. If so, you'll need to upgrade the BIOS, and since you probably don't have any 1st or 2nd gen AM4-compatible CPUs around, you might have to either RMA the board to have them update the BIOS or get a "boot kit" from AMD. If you want to skip this hassle, I recommend the MSI B450 Tomahawk instead, as it's around the same price but provides an option to update the BIOS without a CPU. Please check the motherboard manual for instructions on how to do this.

All of this stays under $1000 - your budget.

5th people to use single channel memory, 4th on Ryzen, this month alone. I wonder if some "KOL" decided to use a single stick in their recent "$x gaming build" and now everyone's copying them

B450-F might not come with 3rd gen support, and it can't flash its bios without a compatible CPU in the socket.

Better add an extra case fan at least since this case is somewhat closed off. Not like I really like be quiet's cases, they cut down airflow to the point where they aren't less loud (due to higher fan speed to keep temperatures the same as their competitors) and DLC stuff (extra hard drive cages and covers) instead of coming with everything the case could hold.

There's also no power supply, so the components will have to run on the same stuff breatharians claim to do
