If i buy the rockstar version and not the steam version will i still be able to play with my friends with steam or will it be through rockstar since they have there own app now and everything

I didn't think that it was up for preorder on Steam at all.  The only place that I found it was on the Rockstar Launcher.  I just checked Steam, and it doesn't show up in the search.

It's coming to Steam in December.

I honestly did not know that.  Either way, I just did it through the Rockstar Launcher.  It really didn't matter to me because I don't do a lot of multiplayer, but if you preordered through the Rockstar Launcher, you got 2 free games on top of that.

I also had no idea it would be on steam. But yes, to answer your question. It will be able to play with your friends still.
