NZXT warranty is a bit of a pain in the ass. Kraken x62

The cooler works perfectly, except the blue channel of leds has died, so I can only use green or red and everything in between, this is a very petty thing but my system was build with ice in mind, white case, white motherboard, white memory (White GPU was too expensive) and the blue leds died.

I contacted NZXT and I had to show proof it was actually broken, I 100% agree this, everything they asked was reasonable, they send me a replacement cable and it didnt fix the problem so the unit had to be replaced. The first option was: Send your old unit and once it arrives we will send a replacement, I had to send it all the way to the US from the Netherlands and wait for them to ship it back, I told them that wouldnt work, I use the PC for more then just gaming, also for some 3D modeling for my job.

So they have a advanced process, I had to buy the GPU and once I destroyed my old one they would refund me the money, but there is a catch, I have to do this, live, so they can see it live. This is weird to me, this is the first time a company asks me to do something like this, most of the time they just replace it after I show proof the product is defect or I just snap a quick pic its been destroyed. But to do this live complicates things quite a bit, especially due to the time zone difference, I dont know if this is more common. have you ever had to do something like this?

@aaradorn Most companies just use the honor system when you say something is faulty, but if somone keeps scamming a company, they gotta take some action

What the actual fuck ?. Never seen a company ask for a ‘live stream’. Yes, providing photos with day/date on it etc, but not that.

That's what I'm used to, this is the first time I contacted nzxt and it's pretty weird, I guess others took advantage of them. it sucks.

I always recommend having a spare air cooler for any systems with a watercooler just incase something happens. Maybe buy a cheap air cooler then send the unit back?

Main PC CPU: 7700K, MOBO: Asus Strix, GPU: Aorus Extreme 3080, PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB Storage: 970 Evo 1tb

Lounge PC CPU: 4790K MOBO: Asus Hero VII GPU: EVGA 3060 Ti PSU: Corsair RM650 RAM: Kingston HyperX 16gb Storage: 970 Evo 1TB

I already have the new unit, going to video chat with them later today (I hope) I had a spare intel cooler but recently switched to amd and forgot to keep atleast one spare.

I’ve done the same with car parts actually. Didn’t need to be live though as it’s hard to replicate the stuff. Unlike pc hardware.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz

I mean, for example, who has my ID card a X62 kraken and just cuts the tubes of his own kraken for a random fake video? Think its pretty hard to replicate.

Then there shouldn’t be a problem.

Gonna wear something silly and show some really weird things in the background. Then cut the tubes with the smallest scissors or maybe the biggest scissors that I have.

I reached a middle ground with nzxt, I can make a video with some information in it to show that its really me, Destroy the kraken, and I can send it to them. With night time coming so quick these days I live video chat would be imprectical, they would have a very grainy video feed and the time difference was to big of a hassle to to everything.
