Hi!

I received my motherboard today which has been put in with a new CPU and RAM, when I boot up the computer it beeps once but no display is shown.

Motherboard: Gigabyte A320M-S2H

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G

We believe everything is plugged in correctly. So what could be causing this issue?

Thanks! -Sol

Does it say "compatible with ryzen 3000 series" on the motherboard box?

It says "AMD Ryzen 3000 Desktop Ready" so yeah

How long did you leave the system on the first time?

It can take multiple minutes before they actually boot first time. Derpy thing about the 300-series chipset.

Yea its compatible with 3000 ryzen's but, dont think its the processor in this case. 1 beep usually indicates ram. maybe take it out. make sure there's no dust. no stuff missing. they're in the proper channels and then reseating them, then trying. with ofcourse trying both.

It beeped once

1 short single beep means everything is fine. Check your manual, page 17 item 10 (speaker)

We looked it up and it said one beep meant it was all good.

Okay, well time to make it angry then.

What you do is:

Unplug the power from the PSU

Unplug all sata devices

Remove all RAM

Remove the CMOS battery (check page 12 in your manual, it's a button battery, remove that)

Try to turn on the system (yes I know it is unplugged and won't work, just press the button)

Leave the system for a few minutes (3 to 5, get a drink or something, but leave it for a bit)

Put the CMOS battery back

Plug the PSU back in

Try to boot

If it beeps at you like an angry idiot, let me know

If it doesn't, we might have a bigger issue (or not, we have a few options).

^^ This

I actually used to have this motherboard lol

But yeah if the bios on it is anything older than the f40 revision, it won't support that processor.

you'll need to put in an old ryzen chip first and get it updated

Wrote this ages ago and never clicked send, glad you figured it out ?
