Hello LTT:

I have made a decision to go ahead and pick up a few EVGA GTX 780ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition cards. I want to be able to OC them to their maximum potential, and I heard how K|NGP|N used Liquid Nitrogen Pods to cool his. Where could you get your hands on these? Even then, it's probably a big pain to configure, and I would have no clue how it would all actually work.

If anybody could supply me with information on how/where to get one, and how the concept works that would be absolutely fantastic.

If you don't know where to get the stuff you are probably not ready for sub zero cooling.

Cat stepped on keyboard and caused page to refresh, gg.

Are you implying you wish to keep two+ 780ti's overclocked and cooled on Liquid Nitrogen? You do realize how dangerous LN2/Helium is, right? Both to you and your components. This isn't something you just continually fill back up and use your PC to game or something else.

Realistically speaking here, I will probably stick with simple Distilled Water cooling, but I thought it would be a fun project for the future. Whenever i feel like the Kingpins need to get a few more Ghz, then I'll do it for a fun project.

Yes, I was.

Yep. What else would you do with it? ^-^

Thank's for the name. I'll do some research into pods some more.

For the best cooling solution for actual use you should look into custom loop watercooling.

Already have a loop I'm putting together. In my signature.

Maybe experiment with dry ice cooling first before liquid nitrogen or liquid helium.

I just thought it would be something fun to do. Nothing really to do immediately, but maybe down the road if I get some time.

sub zero cooling can be fun, but from what i have seen, you will destroy card's, motherboards and cpu's in the process. it is not something you do to get a better gaming experience, you do it so you can get the highest clock speed or "score" as you could put it.

Case: Phanteks Evolve X with ITX mount  cpu: Ryzen 3900X 4.35ghz all cores Motherboard: MSI X570 Unify gpu: EVGA 1070 SC  psu: Phanteks revolt x 1200W Memory: 64GB Kingston Hyper X oc'd to 3600mhz ssd: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1TB ITX System CPU: 4670k  Motherboard: some cheap asus h87 Ram: 16gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz

Liquid Nitrogen (or virtually any sub zero cooling) is impractical for non-enterprise users. It is a hassle, breaking parts would be inevitable sooner or later, and mistakes could easily cause injury to your surroundings and even yourself. Exception to this is overclocking competitions and merely using it for a while to get the best overclock or score they can get. Even then, these are people who know what they are doing. It really isn't for using normal usage such as gaming or etc. like you would for water or air cooling.

you could go phase change, that would get you that below ambient temps and send the 780tis through the roof. Not quite as good as LN2 much much more useable in the long run. Not sure about the sound though anyone want to chime in.

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

You can't use LN2 for more than a couple of minutes. Pro overclockers do it to benchmark the cards and break records. They start the computer, pour nitrogen on the cards, run the benchmark for minutes or seconds and then shut it down. You can't be continuously cooling the cards with LN2 and you can't game. You have to pour the nitrogen yourself and monitor the cards which means you won't have time to do anything else while the cards are running. If you just want to do it for fun, bragging rights or just to see a big number in a benchmark, go for it, but it is not something you can use every day. It is unusable in the real world.

Why do i always get blue screens? Why not a red one for a change?

All the motivation I need :D

Realistically guys, I won't be doing this until I upgrade my graphics cards again. This way, if I break one of them, it's no big deal. The card will be outdated anyways, and it was going to sit in a bin if it wasn't broken.

Thanks guys for the information, I've actually learned a lot. I knew nothing about liquid nitrogen, and now I do. ;D
