I have problem installing Windows 10 to an old machine, a Asrock Z97 mobo. I have the latest BIOS. Windows kept saying cannot install to Disk blah blah. I tried the M.2 slot and other Sata ports. No luck. I did use Diskpart to clean the drives.

However I can install Linux Pop OS and boot just fine. So I know the drives and the mobo aren't broken. What the fxxk is going on with Windows? I've built more than 10 PC. First time to have this problem.

Well what's it telling you specifically? Kind of hard to troubleshoot without knowing the error codes :/

No error code. But say go to the BIOs and turn on the drive controller. I went through the entire BIOS. Everything looks normal. I can see the drives in the Boot menu.

Well does it say why windows can't be installed on the drive?

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."

This is the exact wording.

At first it happened when I used the NVMe M.2. Then I tried a Sata 2.5' drive, Same problem. I have installed Windows 10 to this mobo before. Only after update the BIOS do I have this problem.
