Help Selecting New GPU for My System

Hi,

 

I believe my Gigabyte RX 480 G1 4GB GPU is a bottleneck in my gaming system, and I'm looking to upgrade it by spending the least amount of money to bring the CPU and GPU performance closer, effectively reducing the bottleneck as much as possible. I hope that you can help me select the best GPU for my setup:

 

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3-CF

CPU: i7 7700K - 4.2Ghz O.C @ 4.5Ghz

PSU: Corsair VS550 (550W)

RAM: 16GB (2x8GB Dual Channel) Kingston Fury HyperX (2400Mhz)

I think this card make my CPU a bottleneck? Also I don't think my PSU is suitable, the 5700 XT requires a 600W PSU.

u could run it on a 550watt psu, and cpu should be ok

the 5700xt specs list a 600w psu because the makers this case amd always put high psu wattages to be on the safe side.
you dont need 600 500-550 should do it too. Just make sure your psu has the proper gpu power cables. if it doesnt you shouldnt use it.

My GPU doesn't have enough connectors without using an adapter.

 

The 5700 xt is also £400 and I think it will be overpowered for my system.

 

Do you think a gtx 1660 ti would be a good upgrade to balance my system? 

 

It's also worth mentioning I have a 1080p monitor.

5700xt won't be bottlenecked by your cpu don't worry. and looking at images on corsairs site it looks like your psu has 2x 8 pin pcie connectors. the 5700xt will only need an 8 pin and 6 pin so it should be fine.

Not if it's the reference design... That requires two 8-pin connectors.
