ok first things first, what graphics card do you have? graphics driver and kernel are the first things to sort, after you have that sorted you can install Steam and Lutris and start playing your games

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

For the graphics card, currently I'm using nvidia quadro k2100m on lenovo ThinkPad w541. And for the kernel, I think it was Linux kernel 5.2 I think.

I got a friend who's a red hat Linux developer and he keeps on complaining that Nvidia suck at delivering good driver so I guess avoid Nvidia?

I'd search for either additional drivers (propriety drivers can sometimes be an issue) for your specific card, or try out something in Wine (just to see what happens). I have the best luck running Steam and games on Ubuntu, but I still needed to install additional packages.

That graphics card is kinda old, so the proprietary driver might not work well or at all with newer kernels. Can't say for sure since I don't have any experience with it, just something to keep in mind.

Finally I can play some games. So I just installed optimus manager on manjaro and now my gpu is working. Now I can run steam no problem. If there's anyone that wants to know how to install Optimus manager, I have this link to the official manjaro forum.
