Today my kingstone 480gb SSD came and i wanted to install it into my setup but I only had the cable from the PSU and couldn't find another Sata 3 cable to connect the ssd to the MO, just the cable that connects my HDD.

I am surprised that my motherboard(GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2H) didn't come with more sata cables. I think I need to buy a cable for it, but do all the sata 3 cables work or do I need to look for a specific one?

And do I need to get a specific support to mount my ssd or do I need to screw it (I see a place on my case where it's written "SSD" and has 4 holes in the corner)

All sata cables are the same.

Its the Controller that changed over time, sata cables that came with boards from 2002 will worth with sata 3 ssd’s just fine.

And you can put it wherever you want, nothing moves inside and it doesn’t have to be grounded so you could have it dangling outside the case hanging off your desk if you wanted.

Thanks for the quick answer! Do I have to remove my hdd before installing windows 10 on the ssd? I don't want to unzip all my cables that are next to the hdd so I can unplug it

You don't have to unplug the HDD, but it would be better and safer to unplug it and leave just the SSD.

This way you won't accidentally install Windows on your old mechanical drive.

When you buy a 2nd sata cable, you can simply connect the mechanical drive to another sata port on your motherboard.

You don't have to screw down your SSD, there's no moving parts inside so it doesn't mind if it moves around or it's sitting on the bottom of the case.
