How does KMS Tools work

I'm just curious about how the activation for Office and Windows work and why is still working

What tool are you talking about? Only kms tool I know of is used for illegal purposes. Kms stands for key management system and details on how that works is very well explained in Wikipedia.

To answer OP, they work very well even now with Office 365 and Windows 10. But KMS isn't needed as Windows 10 activation cam be bypassed with a couple registry tweaks.

And some illicit copies of Windows 10 include an already "activated" Windows install.

The tool itself doesn't run in the background, only a service. It does not connects to any remote server unless it's a fake activator that only installs "real" malware on your computer.

 

The legit activator does it automatically.

Understand that these are not my sayings. These are from the article. I will not confirm or deny using it, but as far as I know, that's how it works.
