Hi guys. I'm currently gaming on a 9600k, Z390 Aorus Pro, 16gb ddr4 3000mhz tridentz, gtx 1070 and 2 monitors: a ips 21:9 1080p 75Hz and a tn 1080p 144Hz, but playing a lot of aaa games and using the 21:9 screen 90% of the time.

Here's the problem, I have some options to what to do:

1. Upgrade the gtx 1070, either to 2070 super or wait till next years 7nm (wanting this mainly for rdr2).

2. Upgrade 9600k to 9700k/9900k/3700x. Don't get me wrong, the 9600k is great and games are running without an issue but seeing on all the forums how I souldve went with 3600x/3700x and people saying its not gonna last long until my 9600k is going to bottleneck aaa games (againg, afraid for rdr2, huge fan of Rockstar games), I kinda feel bad for my purchase. My pc is used only for gaming, not doing anything else.

So guys, what is your opinion?

No, it takes a long time since your 9600k will bottleneck any gpu in games, so is not worth to change it.

Your motherboard is very good, memory - enough and fast. GPU is also good enough, but you may consider some 2080 if you want to get higher framerates in games.

So, in fact you have everything you need if we're talking about cpu, memory, gpu and monitors. If you want to spend some money on hardware now and framerates are good for you, try good soundcard and maybe amplifier+speakers. Most people focusing on video, but not on audio - and that is very important too.

if i would build a system for gaming new right now i would certanly go 3600 again, but the 9600k is by no means a bad cpu so i would stick to it.

if anything, i would upgrade the gpu to a 5700XT. slightly less performance than a 2070 Super, but at over 100 bucks less (where i live)

honestly? i think your 1070 is still a very capable card. unless you really need to, i would stick to it as long as i could.

i am pretty sure that it would run RDR2 fine, sure, not maxed out, but fine. maybe wait till it comes out and see what your card does if you are fine with it at the moment.
