Cpu Run way hotter than Cooler

Hailun

I got and amd Ryzen 5 3600 and it should be cooled by an Corsair Hi100 v2. My Cpu got an temperture of round about 70 celius.  But my cooling runs at chilling 31 is that normal?

Im using Corsair link and Ryzen master to get the temps.

To be clear, your CPU idles at 31C and runs at 70C under load? If that's correct, those temperatures are pretty normal for that cooler.

check the screws, try to tighten them more. it might be because it's not actually tight enough on the cpu.

Ah, so this is measuring the temperature of the water in the cooler itself?

ask me about my homelab

In summary, the cpu water cooler's water is at 31C while the cpu is at 71C, so it should be lower than 71C.

of course water temp is lower than CPU temperature. That's just how it works.

liquid flows too fast to heat up anymore than that. Also consider that there is a temperature gradient from the CPU cores to the IHS, and that's before the heat is transferred to the base plate of the cooler.

This is also necessary, the higher the temperature difference the faster the heat transfer from base plate to liquid.

Those numbers are the same as mine running prime 95 (high heat) with a 25c ambient. ek water block and a 120mm rad.

Yes, that's normal. It's similar to how the air used to cool isn't nearly as hot as the component being cooled.

Replying to everything

1- 70C under load with a 100i isn't normal... at all, unless you have an overclocked FX 9590, which you don't.

2- The coolant temp should be over 40C with a CPU running at 70C, you have a HUGE temp difference which indicates the block isn't making proper contact with the IHS.

How is the cooler mounted? Are you using the AM3 mounting pieces or screws and standoffs?

OK Today i startet up my pc and my Cpu got an startup temp of 67 i dont think thats normal, i bought an amd4 kit for my cooler but used the amd3 one cause i think the am4 one are to high, im gonna try using these weard amd4 ones
