Yeah renting from them. Don’t know if it supports wireless ac. Do you have recommendations for adapters?

Id get something like this https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GC-Wbax200-802-11Ax-Bluetooth-Expansion/dp/B07VNBC5PS/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=gigabyte+wifi+adapter&qid=1571699378&sr=8-4

That way you get ac + ax and n, and dual band.

Hello people of LTT,

Im currently using a usb wifi adapter called nano 802.11bgn. My provider is xfinity and my plan is like up to 75 mbps. In my room i have a wifi extender but I keep getting disconnected and speeds are not so good. Any recommendations on what I should do to get good speeds or a stable one at best.

Do you have the extender in your room? MOve the externder to where it gets a better signal, probably in the middle.

Id get a better wifi adapter, those cheap usb ones aren't great.

Can you get a better wifi ap, maybe a mesh system will help here if you can't run cables.

I was looking into mesh but not sure what to get and price. Any recommendations on the adapter and mesh? The extender is under my PC in a power strip lol.

with a wifi extender, so don't want it to be next to your pc, you want it in the middle, try moving it.

About how big is your hourse.

Also do other wifi device work fine in your room? ID try a different wifi adapter.

I moved it twice now, seems like it got worse speed. Once in the kitchen and the other time between the router and my room. The kitchen is close to the router. It’s one story house, 2,205 sqft. I only use my phone and PC but that’s a picture of the speed on my phone, doesn’t experience problems.EA1AA26F-501D-4AB9-B633-5CA91D1F0388.thumb.png.7b1b55e81c011c341abfb2595a692f3d.png

Id try a different wifi adaper, and the current one isn't great, but if that still doesn't help look at a mesh setup.

But wired will be better if you can run it somehow.

Are you renting a gateway from Xfinity or do you own your own equipment? Only reason I ask, is I know some of the newer Xfinity gateways are suppose to support Wireless AC, which should have a bit better range. If you want to pay extra, they even offer their own extenders.

Also extenders are known to cut your bandwidth in half. So, keep that in mind.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Yeah renting from them. Don’t know if it supports wireless ac. Do you have recommendations for adapters?

No, I use Ethernet. Modem and router are in my room. Plus my motherboard came with wireless AC included.
