Hi. I bought an rx 580 8gb aorus (not the xtreme one) second hand. I paired it with an i5 4690k and started a unigine heaven benchmark on its stock setting (benchmark stock setting, they are set to high i believe, by default) and i only got around 20-30 fps and i shoud have had around 100.. i was like wtf..

So i took the gpu apart, replaced the thermal paste and reassembled it. The temps before didn t pass 70C so idk what happened there. After reassembly, the gpu worked normally but it had a huge amount of coil whine. I downgraded the vBios (  cuz it already had the latest one), same thing, and i got 20 fps again. I thought maybe the psu had the coil whine ( it's an AcBel-never heard of, 80+ bronze 550w ) i put in a gtx 1060 3gb from gigabyte,   installed geforce experience and the latest driver. Same coil whine, then i knew it was from the psu. I uninstalled GeForce experience while downloading the adrenaline software. I put the rx 580 back in, start a unigine heaven benchmark and guess what, the screen turned blue, not blue screen of death,   a solid blue. I restarted the pc by holding down the power button,  cuz that was the only way i could restart it. After that i tool the rx 580 and put it into my personal rig, with a r5 1600x,seasonic 620 m12 full modular 80+ bronze psu. I start unigine heaven benchmark and blue screen again... later i tested my rig with the 3gb gigabyte gtx 1060 i was talking about earlier and it worked ok, but apparently this gpu actually had coil whine ( it was quiet at least) but i got 117 average fps ( SAME SETTINGS as the other pc in unigine)

I put the rx 580 into the i5 rig again, tried to enter the adrenaline software,  and i got a black screen this time, FORGOT TO MENTION: after all these blue/black screens, the monitor would show like u turned it on but theren isn t any gpu connected to it WHILE THE AORUS rgb logo on the gpu was flashing without stopping, until i restarted the pc...then the pc would tell me to start automatic troubleshooting or continue to windows.

I said, no problem,  i'll flash the other bios.i opened amd/ati flash program, opened it as an administrator, i clicked then YES and BLUE SCREEN.. please help, i reallt hope this is software related.

Mention: When i said  screen , it was not BSOD, it was a solid color screen.

HEEEELP PLEASE i tried troubleshooting  like 3 hours and no result!!

So let me get this clear because it's a pain in the ass to read the whole thing structure wise.
You get blue tint or no video input while using the RX 580. Using the 1060 has no problems but you hear coil whine from the PSU not the GPU or the other way around.

If it's that:

Coil whine is actually the current moving through the components which makes this high pitch sound so it's not something you should worry about it's just VERY annoying unless you hear rattling noises then RMA.

I have 2 questions:
1) Is the rx 580 giving you blue screens everytime on both configurations ?
2) is the performance on the GTX 1060 the same on both the configurations ?
