Sorry....trying to keep it under $800 and gaming/photo editing.

I am sure there mistakes or better options, I do want a SSD either SATA or m.2, but will need storage for pics as well

Did 3 minor changes. Better PSU, case and cheaper SSD. You can add a 2TB 7200RPM HDD too.

I kinda did the same as @Plouffe. I didn't change the PSU or case, but I changed the SSD and added a HDD. This way you can have your OS on the SSD and all your photos and stuff on the HDD.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

That's a nice build too but that SSD seems overpriced :o

I forgot that the reason I had the Tomahawk Max was because the OG idea was to build around a 3rd gen Ryzen.......

the gaming plus has bios flashback, all you need to do is to put the BIOS file on a usb drive, plug it in and press a button.

Ok, using input from all you guys and some more research, I managed this build that actually has the 3rd gen Ryzen, for about the same price as those above.

Again, any and all help is appreciated.

i really like this build, but I am not sold on the GPU. with such close margins in performance I might go back to the Rx 580......

the gtx 1660 is universally better more or less while having less heat output........

the rx 590 is a pretty poor GPU choice in terms of value.

First, I don't know enough to truly contradict your statement, I am new and still doing research.

While in every review/video I have watched the 1660 did in fact out perform the 580, it did not seem to be significant,

Also, understanding that I need to be as price conscious as I can, the cost per performance seems to lean in the RX's favor.

Again, I am new, and just starting to do my homework here, if there is something I have missed, then please, I am more than willing to be taught.

Thanks again, for the time you have taken to help this new guy out.

Spoiler

its roughly speaking 10% faster on average.

more in some titles, less in others.

the gtx 1660 just makes a lot more sense than the rx 590.
