So i already have a KFA 1080 EXOC but i am considering going into the rtx series. Is the RTX 2080 ti going to be worth getting into? Or should i just seek out a used 1080 Ti if i want additional performance?

I run a i9-9900k with 32 gigs of ram and the 1080 does a good job at keeping those frames up but i'm looking to take my system even further by upgrading the GPU. I'm just not sure if the ray-tracing will be worth the price tag.

As shown, the rtx 2070 only beats the 1080 in multi-rendering, in addition some games perform a little better. But on the other half i got the 1080 used in good condition for half the retail price of a new 2070.

Well, you can't really upgrade your CPU unless you need more threads for something. If you already have fast enough storage, the GPU is really the only thing you could upgrade on the system if you want faster.

Whether or not it's worth it, only you can tell for sure.

In the sense that it's the fastest gaming card you could buy, yes. It's RTX implementation isn't what I would call mature tho and RT performance is lacking for resolution and refresh rate of monitor(s) someone with a $1100 card would run, so if possible I'd say you should wait for next gen of Nvidia cards. They could be announced as early as April 2020, or late 2020 if not even later (there's no limit on how long it could delay really)
