Making My Own Display

I recently watching the new Linus video about creating your own monitor. I remembered I had an old IPad 2 I took it apart and have no clue what type of connector this is to make it hdmi???

looks like a standard display connector - ive done it many times with a pc display.

 

go to ebay find out the model number of display or ask a seller on ebay (best bet as if they are wrong you can get it refunded or sent back free) and just search for a lvds 30 pin lcd adapter or such.

The reason old laptop displays are used for diy monitors is because they all use a fairly standard LVDS connector in a few different variants. 
 

oh is it Proprietary  I thought it was lvds
