5820k or 2700x in home server

kolere23

So i recently bought a computer used from a friend. The spec list is below. I am trying to decide if i should keep it as my home server, which was the intended purpose of the purchase, or if i should use my 2700x from my gaming machine . I am new to servers and the use but i would like to make a plex server and host an FTB server from it (the server would have about 10-15 players at max).

Just to clearify, if the 2700x would go in the server i will use the 5820k in my gaming machine for example

Spec list:

Intel core i7 5820k

16 GB DDR 2400mhz 4 ram

MSI X99 Deluxe MB

Random 500 watt PSU

GTX 980 gpu (i am swapping this for a gtx 460 just to get display output, and i am selling the 980)

well the 2700X is more powerful so I would use that in the gaming machine personally

You don't need that much power to host FTB.

Just use the 2700x for game.
