I realized that my best bet for my new system as far as fans go is to get a fan hub, but I've never used a fan hub before.

I saw a $15 Cooler Master fan hub online but I don't know anything about them. Are they reliable? I'm using 6 PWM fans in my case and the fan hub is made for PWM fans. I understand that the fan hub sets them all to the same speed which is fine. So what can you tell me about them? Do you have one? Is it useful?

Thanks

Fan hubs are generally safe to use if they're powered by SATA power cable. Most of them use a single fan header on your motherboard to allow for speed control of. But as you mentioned, you'll change speed of every fan at the same time.

There is Corsair Commander Pro. Its more than just a fan hub, but it allows for individual  fan control of up to 6 fans. But it costs around 60 euros.

Fan hubs are obviously useful when you have many fans and not enough fan headers on the motherboard.

I use aforementioned Corsair Commander Pro because it allows me for a very precise fan control based on GPU/CPU temperature, motherboard temperature or custom fan curve using  Corsair Link.

What are your specs? What fans are you using?

Depending on the hub, it could just be a simple splitter in a different form factor. In that case, quality isn't much of a concern.

Please link to any products you're referring to and / or mention the model names.

Yeah sorry. It's a deepcool, not a Coolermaster.

I don't mind having them all controlled at the same time. I want nice cooling and nice positive pressure. I'll have either 4 or 5 fans connected to this and then a 6th side panel fan connected to the motherboard.

It'll work fine as long as all of your fans are pwm.

What motherboard and fans are you using? Maintaining positive pressure is just a matter of running your intakes at higher rpm than your exhausts.

I haven't chosen my motherboard but it's for Ryzen and my fans are all PWM Arctic Freezer 120mm fans. I'll have 2 exhaust and 4 intake.

Which fans in particular? There's probably a PST variant of the fan that allows you to daisy chain multiple fans off of a fan header without the need of a splitter.

They do have a PST thing but I've never dealt with that and on the online manual the instructions say that you hook all the fans up to the CPU fan and then plug the CPU fan into the CPU header, so I'm worried that since I'm not hooking any of them up to the CPU fan, and instead plugging them into the SYS FAN header that the PST won't work.

As long as the header supports pwm, the pst function will work fine. The instructions recommend the cpu_fan header since it's mostly likely to support pwm even on older motherboards. You can usually see what is supported in the motherboard manual.
