It's good to see them discounting the old units so much, but on the other hand, they kind of have to because the 3rd gen was such a huge leap

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

yeah agreed, being able to use a 2700 in a "budget" PC is pretty awesome.

I wonder if they are still producing any new 2nd gen units or if this is all just clearing out old inventory by now..

I would expect it's all just clearing out old stuff but I don't know for certain.

Yeah the 3000 skus are a huge jump, but the 2700 is no slouch lol. I got mine for 179 at a Micorcenter here in the US. That was a screaming deal when partnered with the $118 x470 Prime Pro lol.

My First (Current) Build:

Ryzen 7 2700 (3.90 1.35v OC) | Asus Prime X470 Pro | G.Skill Ripjaws V 16gb 3200 | Inland Professional 512gb M.2 NVME | Samsung 860 Evo Sata M.2 1TB | Corsair H115i Platinum | Corsair ML 140 RGB Fans | Fractal Design Meshify C | EVGA RTX 2070 XC Ultra

Laptop:

HP Spectre X360 13t Gem Cut (i7 8565u, 240gb, 8gb mem)

My Ride:

2015 VW Golf TDI Sportwagen

Eventually an XJ manual...
